The nitty gritty bits and bobs
Last Updated: 18th February 2026
The short version
I collect your name and email when you sign up for something (newsletter, quiz, workshop, coaching inquiry). I use it to send you what you asked for. I don't sell it, rent it, or do anything weird with it. You can unsubscribe anytime and I'll delete your data. If you're a coaching client, I keep your data for 7 years because UK tax law requires it.
Field & Stone is registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) and fully insured. I take data protection seriously.
The longer (but still readable) version
Who I am:
Field & Stone (legal business name), run by Becky Benfield-Humberstone. I'm a business coach based in the UK, serving clients internationally. I'm registered with the ICO (registration number: ZA536478) and hold full professional indemnity insurance.
What data I collect:
Name and email address: When you sign up for my newsletter, take the quiz, register for a workshop, fill out a contact form, or apply for coaching.
Postal address: For coaching clients: I collect your address to send you welcome packages, cards, and other goodies as part of your coaching experience.
For everyone else: Only if you specifically request something physical (like a pin badge). Otherwise, I don't need or collect it.
Payment information: If you pay for coaching via Stripe, they process your payment details securely. I never see your full card number. (I prefer bank transfers, for what it's worth.)
What I use it for:
Send you The Founders Club newsletter (if you signed up for it)
Send you your quiz results and follow-up emails
Send you workshop details and reminders
Respond to your inquiries
Manage coaching clients (session notes, progress tracking, admin)
Process payments for coaching
Send you a pin badge if you asked for one
I don't use your data for anything you didn't explicitly sign up for. I don't sell your data. I don't rent your data. I don't share it with anyone except the tools listed below that help me run the business.
Who has access to your data:
Just me and the tools I use to run the business:
Mailchimp: Manages my email list and sends newsletters
Google Workspace: Where my email lives
Interact: Hosts the quiz and stores quiz responses
Calendly: Manages booking calls
Stripe: Processes card payments (if you choose that option)
Buzzsprout: Hosts the podcast (doesn't collect listener data unless you subscribe directly through them)
Excel (password-protected): Where I keep client notes, stored locally on my computer
All of these tools have their own privacy policies and security measures. I chose them because they take data protection seriously.
Where your data is stored:
Your email data lives in Mailchimp's servers (US-based but GDPR-compliant). My email is on Google's servers. Quiz data is on Interact's servers. Client notes are password-protected on my computer in the UK.
How long I keep it:
Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. Then I delete you from the list.
Quiz takers: Until you unsubscribe from the follow-up emails.
Workshop attendees: Until you unsubscribe from the email list.
Coaching clients: 7 years after our last session. This includes your name, email, address, session notes, and payment records. This is a legal requirement from HMRC (UK tax authority) for business records. After 7 years, I delete everything.
Contact form inquiries: Until they're resolved, then deleted (unless you've joined my email list).
Your rights (GDPR and all that):
You have the right to:
Access your data: Ask me what data I have about you
Correct your data: If something's wrong, I'll fix it
Delete your data: Ask me to delete it (except coaching client data during the 7-year HMRC retention period)
Export your data: Get a copy of everything I have
Object to processing: Tell me to stop using your data for specific purposes
Withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from emails anytime
To exercise any of these rights, just email me.
Security:
I take reasonable precautions to protect your data:
Password-protected files
Secure connections (SSL)
Reputable third-party tools with strong security measures
ICO registration and compliance
Professional indemnity insurance
But let's be honest, no system is 100% secure. I do my best, but the internet is the internet.
Children:
This site isn't for children under 16. If you're under 16, please don't give me your data. If I discover I've accidentally collected data from someone under 16, I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy:
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top and let newsletter subscribers know.
Questions or concerns:
If you have questions about how I handle your data, or if you want to exercise any of your rights, email me.
