Postcards From a Founder

Wisdom from founders who've built something that matters, delivered the old-fashioned way.

Postcards From a Founder Project

Being a founder is one of the most fulfilling and loneliest pursuits you can choose. You break the mould, go against the grain, do something you genuinely believe in, and whether you do it loudly or quietly, the journey is still yours to walk.

This is a project to collect that wisdom.

I'm sending postcards to founders I admire. Some you've definitely heard of, some you haven't. Some who are Quietly Disruptive like me, some aren't. High-profile entrepreneurs, thought leaders, people building unconventionally, people who've walked the founder path and have something worth saying.

Here's how it works:

I send a postcard with a simple prompt and a blank postcard for their response.

The prompt: Share one piece of wisdom, one aha moment, one truth that kept you going when everything else said to quit.

If they respond, I share their wisdom here and across social media, newsletter. (If they don't, well, that’s part of the project).

Why postcards?

There is something very personal about a postcard, well, that and reaching out to Richard Branson or Seth Godin via email gets lost in the noise. It's personal. It's intentional. It's a quietly disruptive way to make contact with people who are usually unreachable.

Why this matters:

Founder wisdom could easily be locked in the heads of people who've already made it. Whether they built loudly or quietly, publicly or privately, their insights can help someone else who's walking that same lonely path right now.

This project collects it, shares it and makes it accessible.

You'll see responses shared as they come in. Some will be from names you recognise immediately. Some will be from founders you've never heard of but should know about. All will be worth reading.

This is Postcards from Founders. Wisdom from those who've walked the path.
